The current embed code options include full page or fixed pixel width.
With the rise in popularity of mobile devices and the move toward device-agnostic responsive web designs, a percentage-based width embed that can scale with it's container would be welcome.
Right now the fixed-pixel width of the embed container offers a less-than-ideal user experience when viewed on a mobile device smaller than the specified embed width.
From the looks of the code the embed generates, adding this option would only require reconfiguring certain fixed-width divs to use percentage-based widths instead.
Thanks for considering.

It's high on our priority list for 2015. Recent funding from the Knight Foundation is allowing us to expand our team and resources, and we're aware that mobile is a key need. Stay tuned.
Hi there - I'm also seeking an update on responsive embedding, we love using documentcloud but have a mobile responsive site so it's difficult to implement at the moment. Any more recent developments on creating a responsive embed option?
Any update on this? We have a responsive website and would love to be able to once again use documentcloud.org for pdf embeds

Hey Todd, we're currently working on a better mobile experience. We've got a lot of interest from a number of different quarters on this front, so we know how important it is to everyone.
