Tracking page views and downloads
I'd like to be able to see how many people have viewed a document, and how many have downloaded it.

We’re tracking some of this internally and will be reaching out for more feedback on how to share this with users.

I should have added ... you can already do much of this yourself by embedding your document on a page with the analytic tools you use to monitor the rest of your site's pageviews.

If there's one thing that motivates reporters and editors it's pageviews for their efforts.
